Bilingualism

Research into second-language acquisition has found that there is a “sensitive phase” in early childhood, during which it is particularly easy for children to learn a foreign language.

We want to make the most out of this phase. Early bilingualism promotes language awareness, creativity and flexible thinking.

We use the immersion method to foster bilingualism, which involves the children “diving into” their second language, as it is used as a medium of instruction. Our school employs teachers who are native English speakers in order to make sure this approach achieves the best possible results. The bilingual school concept at Josef Schwarz School puts the spotlight on the children's self-esteem, curiosity and optimism.
